The previously red-hot Eagles bats were silenced as they saw their season end against Centerville in the Class 2A District 11 finals 4-1, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

Pella Christian managed just five hits against the Big Reds ace Daniel Hargrave and were unable to string many rallies together after falling behind 4-0 after the third inning.

Centerville chased Eagles ace Isaac Vander Hart after hitting him hard in the 3rd inning for three runs. Head Coach Jeff Bruxvoort says an early momentum boost for Centerville came from an early steal attempt with runners at 1st and 3rd that confused the Eagles into a Balk, which allowed the first run to score.

Pella Christian mustered up a run in the top of the 5th, but were unable to capitalize any further. Devin Haveman had two hits, Lawson Bruxvoort scored the lone Eagles run, and Mac Sarver drove him in.

The Eagles finish the season at 19-16, which marks the end of an incredible academic year of athletic success for Pella Christian’s programs. They say farewell to seven seniors.
