Pella Christian takes its next step towards Fort Dodge tonight as the Eagles host Louisa-Muscatine in the class 2-A region six softball semifinals.

The Falcons used a three-run home run in the seventh inning to topple Wapello 8-5 Wednesday night. That same evening, the fourth-ranked Eagles knocked off Danville 7-2.

In that game, Pella Christian had several base running gaffes that cost them scoring opportunities. While it ultimately didn’t matter in a game they won by six, it’s the type of thing that could end your season prematurely, and coach Karen Harrill says they need to get it cleaned up starting tonight.

“There’s a lot of miscommunication and I think that’s the sole purpose of it. We’re saying something as a coach and the way we’re speaking it, they’re not perceiving it correctly. We already got some of it figured out (after the game) but we’ve got to keep working.”

Pella Christian comes into tonight’s game at 31-5 on the season, while Louisa-Muscatine is 27-5.

First pitch is at 7:00, and you can hear all of the action on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30. Andrew Schneider and Wynne Veenstra will have the play-by-play.
