Pella Christian needed just five innings to knock off the Twin Cedars baseball team 12-0 last night in Bussey.

The Eagles scored two in the second, then broke it open with five in the fourth, including a Lawson Bruxvoort RBI single, a Cole Vande Voort two-run double and a Cole Webster RBI triple.

Pella Christian then tacked on five more in the fifth to put it in run rule territory, including a bases load walk by Mac Sarver and a Vande Voort RBI single.

Sarver faced the minimum on the mound through three innings for the Eagles, and after four-and-a-third shutout innings, he gave way to Bruxvoort, who got the final two outs to finish the game.

Pella Christian improves to an even 15-15 on the season. They’ll close Little Hawkeye Conference play tomorrow night in Newton, then host Moravia in the regular season finale Thursday.

The Sabers drop to 15-8, and have three more games this week to finish out the schedule before the playoffs start early next week.
