A Pella man is in custody after the U.S. Postal Service discovered marijuana in his mail.
Joshua Sharp, 28, has been charged with a controlled substance violation and a drug tax stamp violation, both class D felonies. According to court documents, a U.S. Postal Inspector Marshall executed a federal search warrant on a suspicious package addressed to Sharp. A K-9 unit assisted, and identified the parcel has having narcotics.
Police say one pound of marijuana was in the box. The Mid Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force and U.S. Postal Service set up a controlled delivery at the Pella Post Office, and arrested Sharp after he picked up the package.
