The Pella School Board set their legislative priorities at the second of two summer school board meetings.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling tells KNIA/KRLS News the board sets goals for lobbying with the Iowa Association of School Boards to prioritize a wide range of topics each year. Ebeling says the biggest focus for Pella will be to advocate for adequate state funding, which is likely to be a challenge this upcoming session after revenue projections have fallen short of previously set targets. Ebeling says the board is also prioritizing state assessments and seeks to maintain the statewide sales tax for infrastructure improvements.

The Pella School Board next meets on Monday, August 14th.
