The Pella School board will consider eliminating class rank at Pella High School at the second of two summer meetings today.
A proposal from administration outlines the benefits of eliminating the ranking of graduates based on GPA, because high achieving graduating classes may push down other high achieving students that find themselves lower on the list as a result. The goal is to boost college placement rates.
The board will also hear an update on school construction and review contracts for bread and food for the upcoming academic year.
The Pella School Board meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Pella Middle School Library.
