VFW Post 3519 in Knoxville will be hosting a Ruck for Vets event on Saturday, August 26th.

Anyone who participants in the ruck event can choose to carry 40 pounds of gear and ruck with veterans or choose to walk, run or jog. The event is a 10k with the route passing through Knoxville. Registration is $10 with all proceeds of the event going to the V.F.W 3519 Relief Fund. T-shirts can be purchased for the event for $15. VFW Post 3519 Chaplain Michael Braman tells KNIA/KRLS News the deadline for t-shirts is Thursday, August 17th and all participants have to do is follow the link on the Knoxville VFW post 3519 Facebook page or go to the Ramaekers website and click on online orders and they will find the VFW 3519 t-shirts. The event will begin at 8 a.m. and will feature a free will donation lunch. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on hand playing music and making announcements. Sprint Car driver Chris Walraven who is a sponsor of the event will feature the Ruck for Vets decal on his 305 sprint car during races at the Knoxville Raceway.
