Much needed rainfall may come to the region Wednesday, and with it, a chance of severe weather.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, a slight risk of severe thunderstorms is in the forecast for most of Iowa later today. The primary threat will be damaging wind ahead of a cold front expected to produce widespread scattered thunderstorms. Rainfall totals are expected to be between 1-2” for most of south central Iowa.
