The newly formed group THRIVE Knoxville will be hosting a free Lunch and Learn event on Tuesday, August 1st.

The event is a chance for Knoxville residents to learn more about the new group as well as volunteer to help with different events THRIVE Knoxville will be hosting. Knoxville School’s Superintendent and THRIVE member Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the group will be putting together work teams for some of the events the group has planned. One of the the items the work teams will be working on is a Knoxville app which will allow people to find out what’s happening in Knoxville, where the parks are located, what restaurants the city has to offer and some of the menus of those restaurants. Pearson says the app is for making life a little easier for families in Knoxville as well as visitors to the city. Other events THRIVE Knoxville will be discussing during the lunch include the “Complaint Free World” presentations on August 20th and 21st, “Living Windows” as well as potential partnerships and future events. Lunch will be provided for all who attend. The lunch will begin at noon and will be held at the Knoxville School’s Administration Building. Anyone interested in attending is asked to reserve their spot by stopping in to City Hall by Friday, July 28th.
