Just as he asks his players to do, Hall of Fame Central College Softball Coach George Wares is asking himself what he can do to improve as he looks to make 2018 better than 2017.

Wares joined us on last night’s Central College Radio Coaches Corner, and cited a couple of examples that he’s come up with during his self reflection.

“I think more involvement with the pitchers. Continued involvement there and just getting them to believe that they’re a little better than the rest of world might think they are. I also need a little more ability to get our players to fully grasp how we play. This sounds crazy because we had 100-some stolen bases, but I don’t think we were aggressive enough and I don’t think they fully understood how much freedom we’re going to let them play with.”

During last night’s show, Wares also talked about the impact this last year’s freshman and transfer class has had on the program, and how the upcoming class could be even more impactful.

We also gave Wares, who is very active on Twitter, a chance to go more than 140 characters on some of his latest musings.
