The Pella High softball team was without a single senior this summer, and hopes are that the playing time allotted to young players is the building block of the future.

While the results weren’t there on the field – the Lady Dutch went just 8-27 – coach Robin Llewellyn sees a willingness from the players to do what’s necessary to get better.

LLWELLYN ON HARD WORK
“We’ve got girls who are coming in on their own time. They are putting in the hours lifting and developing their strength. We don’t get to just come in and win right away because we’re Pella. It’s something you have to earn. You have to put in the time in the offseason and develop. We’ve tried to stress that to the girls, and hopefully they’re taking advantage of that.”

You can hear more from Llewellyn this morning as part of the Knoxville HyVee Radio Coaches Corner, which starts at 10:00 this morning on KNIA & KRLS.
