An anonymous donor has provided funding to repaint the competition floor in Central College’s P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.

The design showcases the look of the college’s new athletics graphic identity that was unveiled last month. It’s part of a rebranding effort in the newly expanded building that features a new entrance, the M. Joan Kuyper Farver Atrium, the Pacha Family Lobby, a new locker room, wrestling room and baseball/softball/golf hitting cages that opened this summer. Extensive infrastructure work was also completed as part of the $12 million expansion.

Painters completed their work this past weekend, just in time for the start of preseason volleyball drills. The facility is now air-conditioned as well and a new net system was installed to allow for side-by-side courts for tournament play.

Central’s first nine matches of the season are on the road, so their first chance to play on the new home floor comes on September 12th against Simpson.
