The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting their final weekend of activities for the summer at Lake Red Rock during the Labor Day holiday.

Thurs., August 31-Nature Playtime – 10:00 a.m.-Playscape
Nature is full of great adventures and new things to see, hear, smell, and touch! Young children and their families can join us for short activities to investigate the world. Activities each week will have a different theme and may include stories, hikes, songs, or crafts!

Fri., Sept. 1-Creatures of the Night Hike- 8:30 p.m.-Whitebreast Campground
Hike along a woodland trail in search of the night shift. Follow the tracks left behind by critters of the night and listen for owl calls and other lurking creatures!

Sat., Sept. 2-A Pirate’s Treasure: Basic Compass – 10:00 a.m.-Playscape
Aarrgh, Matey! Pretend you’re a pirate and search for buried treasure! How will we find the loot? Using a compass, of course! Learn the basics and join in the search!

Sat., Sept. 2-Playscape Craft Time – 1:00 p.m.-Playscape
Artists of all ages: join us for some make-and-take creative fun at the Playscape! Supplies will be provided. All you need to bring is your imagi-nation and creativity!

Sat., Sept. 2-Let’s Go Paddling! – 3:00-5:00 p.m.-Roberts Creek
Enjoy the chance to experience both canoeing and kayaking in the same day! Give one or both types of watercraft a try and see how much fun paddling can be! (You must be at least 10 years old to use kayaks. Life jackets will be provided. Programs may be cancelled if inclement weather and wind conditions.)

Sun., Sept. 3 – Meet Bobber, the Water Safety Dog – 3:00 p.m. – North Overlook Beach
Bobber is a fun loving pup that likes to meet new people and help them learn how to be safe around the water. Come meet him and pick up some great safety tips!

Programs are free of charge, and reservations are not needed. Outdoor programs may be cancelled if raining. Please note: this is the last weekend of regularly scheduled programs for the summer season.
