We’ve spent the last two weeks counting down the top moments and stories of our area schools from the 2016-2017 school year, and in a few short days, the 2017-2018 school year will be upon us.
During Saturday’s Knoxville HyVee Radio Coaches Corner, Pella High Athletic Director Dale Otte was asked to take a look back at another banner year for the boys and girls in green.
“You just kind of wrap it all together and you realize what an amazing job our kids do in all of our activities. We have kids who go from one season right into the next season right into the next season and our coaches prepare them well. The total picture of it, I feel very blessed to work with kids and coaches and a school that goes to work every single day striving to do their best in everything they do.”
For the second straight year, Pella won the Des Moines Register’s all-sports trophy, with nine sports finishing in the top eight in the state.
The 2017-2018 athletic season starts two weeks from tomorrow night, with the boys and girls cross country teams and the volleyball team all in action.
