The PCM Mustang Volleyball team started off 2017 with a statement sweep of the Newton tournament last night, winning all three games to claim the championship.

The Mustangs started off against Saydel winning 21-18, 16-21, and 15-6, then sweeping Des Moines Hoover 21-10, 21-10. The host Cardinals had also dispatched the Eagles and Huskies with ease, setting up the third and deciding match, where PCM took down Newton 23-21, 17-21, and 15-13 to start the season 3-0. Maddie Samson had 10 kills throughout the three games, and also was tied for the team lead in aces with Olivia Lippman at 5. The Mustangs will take off the next couple days before heading to another tournament at West Marshall on Saturday.
