Both of our eight-man teams in Marion County were victorious last night in closer than expected contests. Twin Cedars had to come-from-behind last night to defeat WACO 60-to-56. The Sabers were down 24-6 early on but stormed by outscoring the Warriors 54-28 the rest of the way. The Sabers clawed back and just like the first round playoff game last season, Twin Cedars scored with less than a minute remaining on a Ben Rowley touchdown. Nick Haselhuhn accounted for two scores as well. Twin Cedars is 1-0 and will travel to English Valleys next week. Speaking of English Valleys, the Bears kept it close but Melcher-Dallas pulled out a 32-30 win last night. Ethan Harrington had a good night rushing for 100 yards while Paul Karpan 302 total yards. The Saints also go to 1-0 on the season, and will host Murray next week.
