Hundreds of walkers and runners braved a humid Saturday morning as they were blasted with color to raise funds for a local ministry.

Many Hands for Haiti held their annual Color Blast 5K at Trinity Reformed Church as part of Herfst Feest activities.

Executive Leader Tim Brand tells KNIA/KRLS News he was excited to see so many people support their cause. He says proceeds benefit their projects overseas in Haiti.

“This is going to go feed children, send kids to school, rebuild homes, help people go through leadership courses–really core things that we take for granted,” he says.

The Color Blast 5K was part of numerous activities held on Saturday, including activities and artisans at Pella Historical Village and the Pella Kiwanis poffertje stand during the PACE Alliance Herfst Feest.
