During his most recent visit to Pella, Congressman Dave Loebsack expressed urgency with the upcoming legislative work days this month.

Loebsack says the agenda is long and a lot of bills need to be passed by the end of September.

“We have about 12 legislative days in September right now to extend the debt ceiling to make sure the government doesn’t shut down, so people on Social Security and Medicare can continue to get their paychecks,” he says. “We have to do at least a partial package for the Gulf Coast where Hurricane Harvey hit.”

“I think we really need to reauthorize the children’s health insurance program, that’s hawk-i here in Iowa, Federal Aviation Administration needs to be reauthorized, there’s just so many things that have to be done.”
