A free community educational program, “Caring for Someone Living with ALS,” will be held at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics tomorrow.
The program which is presented by HCI Hospice Care Services and Knoxville Hospital and Clinics and will be held in the hospital’s conference room. Lindsay Spencer, with the ALS Association, will speak with attendees about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis most commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Spencer will speak about general education and awareness from 11 to 11:45 a.m. and will continue with a clinical presentation including symptom management from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Guests may attend one or both segments. Refreshments and a free caregiver toolkit will be provided for those who register prior to the event by calling 641-842-4312.
