Knoxville Selects Duffy, Scott, Schmidt, and Reed for School Board, Approves Proposition A

[1]
As school board election results came in Tuesday night, Martin Duffy and Larry Scott found themselves as elected members of the Knoxville School Board for the two open four-year term positions.

Andrew Schmidt and Vickie Reed will return to the school board after being elected in to fill the two, two-year terms. Knoxville voters also approved Proposition A by 1,018 to 188 votes. With the approval of Propostion A, the Knoxville School District will now be able to construct eight new tennis courts and a full sized outdoor basketball court. Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News she loves the high voter turnout and strong support for Proposition A. Pearson adds she is grateful to all the candidates for their willingness to serve and she looks forward to working with the new board. Knoxville Men’s Tennis Coach Greg Higgenbotham tells KNIA/KRLS News “he’s thrilled with the results and appreciates the community’s recognition of the need for the tennis courts and for their support.”

In other elections, Melcher Dallas voted for Shane Ripperger and a write in vote to fill the two open positions. Pleasantville saw Ron Danks and Kenneth Sutter receive 145 and 144 votes respectfully and Twin Cedars saw Stephanie Sterner receive 98% of the votes in an uncontested election.
