While most of Marion County has its attention on the Knoxville and Pella rivalry this week, the southern portion of Marion County will have the attention of Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars. Since the rivalry started in 1990, the Saints hold a 14-9 edge in the season, however the Sabers have owned the series three of the last four season including last year’s 72-24 win. Saints Coach Mike Hortsman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the rivalry goes in cycles as to who has the advantage. Sabers Coach Aaron Allspach says the traveling trophy is the main thing that is on the line. He says if you win it, it adorns the trophy case for another year. Kickoff is scheduled for seven on Friday.
