It was a split between our Marion County eight-man squads as Melcher-Dallas drubbed Murray 68-6 behind Paul Karpan’s 236 total yards and sophomore Joe Branson’s 123 yards rushing. Karpan was 12/16 135 yards four touchdowns and an interception he also ran for 101 yards on 16 carries and scored a touchdown while Ethan Harrington caught five passes for 101 yards and three scores. Defensively Josh Davenport returned a fumble 35 yards for a touchdown. Melcher-Dallas is 2-0 and will play Tri-County next Friday. The Twin Cedars football squad had its 11 game regular season winning streak snapped with a 48-46 loss in overtime to English Valleys on Friday. Coach Aaron Allspach told KNIA/KRLS Sports mistakes cost his team. Twin Cedars led 20-6 at the half and 40-26 late in the game before the Bears came back. Twin Cedars is 1-1 on the season and will take on Moravia next Friday.
