Pella Christian’s volleyball team has dropped three straight matches, and will try to get back on track tonight with another Little Hawkeye Conference matchup at Newton.

The Eagles lost to Gilbert and Cedar Rapids Kennedy to close out a 2-2 day at Bondurant, then got swept by Indianola Tuesday.

Coach John Evenhouse says that something has to change.

“We’ve got to get some of the right people in the right spots, maybe. We’ve had a lot of confidence in these kids, and the last two or three times we’ve played, that confidence hasn’t looked so good. So we might have to open some things up and make some changes.”

Evenhouse adds that serve receiving is a specific area that needs improvement. He says they have to do a better job moving their feet, stop crouching down while they pass, and stop passing it sideways.

Tonight’s matchup between the Eagles and Cardinals will start at 7:15 at Newton High School.
