Grinnell edged out Pella for the girls title by one point…while Oskaloosa took the boys championship in the Knoxville Cross Country Invitational yesterday at Pine Knolls Country Club. The Lady Dutch scored 38 points, while Knoxville was fifth with 172, Pella Christian, and Melcher-Dallas did not have enough runners to score. Caroline McMartin lead Pella with a second place in a time of 19:19, Ashley Cumpton came in 15th to lead Knoxville in a time of 21:36, Emma Kolb was sixth for Pella Christian in a time of 20:36, while J-Lyn Knutson was 11th overall for Melcher-Dallas in a time of 21:12. On the boys side, Pella finished third overall, while Pella Christian was seventh, Knoxville came in 12th while Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas did not have enough runners to score. Individually: Thomas Gauley third for Pella in a time of 17:11, Jordan Bacon placed 47th for Knoxville in a time of 19:21, Lucas Bandstra was 17th for Pella Christian in a time of 18:21, Lane Anderson finished 102nd for Twin Cedars in a time of 21:37, and Emery Sage was 26th for Melcher-Dallas in a time of 18:45.
