Simpson Football had a gameplan to limit the big play and stop the run against the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the same issues that plagued them in their 45-30 loss to open their 2016 season, and executed the strategy perfectly. Unfortunately, the Storm couldn’t put the ball in the endzone, and ended up falling 17-0.

Sam Sasso passed for 259 yards on 49 attempts, and the Storm had a field goal blocked, a long catch by Jackson Redmond called down at the half yard line which was subsequently fumbled in the end zone on the next play, and another touchdown called back due to illegal touching. Redmond ended up leading the Storm with 10 catches for 128 yards in the loss. Simpson falls to 0-1, and will host Illinois College next Saturday to wrap up their non-conference slate.
