Local law enforcement is reminding all parents to go over safety tips with kids ahead of the annual Beggar’s Night celebration tonight in Marion County.

Pella, Knoxville, Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas and Sully will have trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tracy and Bussey celebrate from 5:30 to 7:30. Police encourage all who trick-or-treat to do so in groups or with trusted adults. All parents should know which neighborhoods their kids plan to go to, and to remind them to walk from house-to-house.

All who plan to be out are reminded to stay on sidewalks and drivers are encouraged to use extra caution in residential neighborhoods. Parents also should inspect all candy before kids begin to eat it.
