The 11th Annual KNIA/KRLS Save a Life Radiothon was held Thursday in conjunction with the Girls Night Out event at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics.

Dr. Bob Leonard hosted the KNIA/KRLS event which featured medical professionals as well as cancer survivors speaking about the importance of women getting screened while telling about their own personal battle with cancer. Nurse Elizabeth Hembrook with the hospital, and a breast cancer survivor, tells KNIA/KRLS News she never thought she would be advocating for women to get screened but knowing how important it is now, she wants to inform as many women as possible to get screened to help catch cancer in the early stages. The Girls Night Out event which took place during the Radiothon featured different vendors as well as food and free giveaways throughout the evening.
