The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pella Police Department, and Monroe Police Department are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration for a drug drop off day on Saturday, October 28th.

All three agencies will be host sites for the take back program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pella Lieutenant Paul Haase tells KNIA/KRLS News residents are encouraged to bring unused or expired prescriptions to drop off stations, no questions asked.

“It gives community members an opportunity to get rid of those unused or outdated drugs, and it gets rid of them in a safe manner,” Haase says.

Haase says the goal is to prevent drugs from falling into unwanted places.
