For the fifth straight season, the Pella High football team has won an undefeated district championship.

The Little Dutch made it look easy with a 49-20 win over Nevada in a game heard live last night on our KRLS2 stream at

Avery Van Zee started the scoring early with an 18-yard interception return for a touchdown less than two minutes into the game. He then added rushing scores of 20 and 35 yards as the Little Dutch built a 21-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The lead ballooned to 42-6 at half with touchdown runs by Reece Schnell (4), Sam Warner (1) and Gabe Thomas (30), and Warner’s 72 yard burst on the first play of the third quarter was the final nail in the coffin.

Pella finishes the regular season 8-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in class 3-A district six.
