Central College sophomore Kobe Rhodes cashed in two birdie opportunities en route to a 74 yesterday at The Straits at Whistling, host of the Whistling Straits Championship.

Rhodes finished his first round of the 36-hole tournament with 12 pars.

Leading the highly-competitive tournament is top-ranked NAIA Texas Wesleyan University with a nine-under par round of 279. Central sits 15th in the 20-team tournament with 319.

The Dutch are playing their final round on the storied golf course today.
