Strong storms passed through with a cold front late Saturday, bringing moderate rainfall and a warning just outside of Marion County.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Northeast Warren, Southeast Polk, and Southwest Jasper Counties just before at 8 p.m. as a line of thunderstorms dropped rain throughout most of the area.

Roughly 3-4″ of rain was recorded from July 1st through September 30th in Pella, according to local rainfall data.

October has seen huge changes in the U.S. Drought Monitor Reports, with most of Marion County now under moderate drought–except for areas near Pleasantville, after most of the area starting the month in the extreme category.
