Wind, rain, breathtaking views and one of the top golf courses in the World provided a tough test for the Central College men’s golf team at The Straits at Whistling, host of Whistling Straits Championship this week.

Central finished 14th in the highly-competitive 20-team tournament at 650 after rounds of 319 and 331. Texas Wesleyan University, the top-ranked team in the NAIA, won the two-day, 36-hole event with a score 585.

Sophomore Kobe Rhodes finished tied for 19th in the 100-player field with rounds of 74 and 80.

The tournament was the final event of the fall for Central, who will take the winter off and return to action for the spring portion of the schedule next year.
