Central College seniors Mark Fairley and Tanner Rathje weren’t ready for their cross country careers to come to an end Saturday at the NCAA Division III Central Regional.

Fairley became the third Dutch runner in the five years to win the regional race. With the win Fairley earns a spot at the NCAA Division III Championship meet. Rathje will join Fairley at the national meet after finishing in 11th place.

As a team Central finished ninth in the 29-team meet.

Women’s senior Holly McKinney led the Dutch to a 15th place finish in the 32-team race with a 21st place showing.
