After a close week seven contest where the Eagles claimed victory, Two Marion County rivals will switch venues and play for a chance at the UNI Dome as Pleasantville travels to Eagle Lane to take on Pella Christian.

In their first matchup, both teams biggest playmakers had strong games on the ground, with Pella Christians Noah Treimer rushing for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Hunter Tyree going for 147 yards. Pleasantville Head Coach Graig Eichenberger told KNIA/KRLS Sports, that the Trojans are happy to have a rematch with the Eagles after the first game didn’t go their way.

Eichenberger
“All week we have been talking about if we can clean up some things or be a little sharper, that first game could have been a little different. I think we learned that these kids are hungry, things didn’t work out, but now they get their second shot”

In their week seven victory, Pella Christian was able to pull away late. However, Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski feels they left a lot on the scoreboard after penalties and turnovers allowed the Trojans to stay in the game, but they were able to contain Pleasantville’s top playmaker.

Kackmarynski
“I think our offense is good enough, I think our defense is good enough, I think our kicking game is good enough. So as long as we don’t give them extra yards, or extra possessions, I think I like our chances. We have to secure the ball and contain Hunter Tyree. He is going to get yards, I’m convinced of that. If we can keep him out of the end zone and don’t let him have big plays, and that comes down to who can control the line of scrimmage”

Pella Christian brings their top rated offense at 47 points per game against a Pleasantville team that held them to 14 points through over three and a half quarters in week seven. The game tonight can be heard on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 for the Pella Christian perspective, and for the Trojan side tune in to our KNIA3 stream on KNIAKRLS.com. Pregame coverage for both games start at 6:30, and kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
