A career high 19 points from Central College senior forward Malik Wildermuth was not enough to lead the Dutch over Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday, falling 81-70.

There were six lead changes in the first half before the game was tied at 28. La Crosse finished the first half with 17-6 run before Central battled back to cut the deficit to five, 56-51, but the Dutch couldn’t close the gap.

Senior guard Trashawn Boyd returned from injury and had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Central is 0-2 to start the season, and heads to high powered Grinnell College Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. tip.
