Freshmen Levi Jungling and David Kacmarynski from Pella Christian are helping the Dordt College football team in its rebuilding efforts.

The Defenders went 5-6 last season after a string of five straight 2-9 campaigns. This year, they’re 4-4 with two games remaining and a chance at a winning season.

Jungling is the team’s leading receiver with 40 catches for 779 yards and seven touchdowns, with a long grab of 91 yards. He’s also ran the ball 30 times for 197 yards and a touchdown, with a long of 43.

Kacmarynski has transitioned to defensive end after playing linebacker at Pella Christian, and has racked up 20 tackles, including 5.5 for loss, and forced a fumble.

The Defenders play at Dakota Wesleyan Saturday before wrapping up their season next week at home against Briar Cliff.
