Midway in the season for the Knoxville Football Squad…it was as tough as any team could have experienced. The Panthers in week three played one of the district favorites Norwalk, followed by Nevada, then eventual district runner-up Carlisle and then district champion Pella. Knoxville lost all four of those games and fans likely saw how resilient the Panthers were. Coach Eric Kellar takes it a bit farther and tells KNIA/KRLS the entire season seemed to be one bit of adversity after another his players had to fight through. The Panthers finished five-and-four winning the final three games in different fashion. Week seven they beat North Polk in an overtime thriller, week eight was a grinder against Bondurant-Farrar that was not decided until a late game defensive play, and Grinnell was a close game until a 21 point fourth quarter by the Panthers.
