Last season, the Rockets of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont blew out the Pleasantville Trojan girls basketball team 67-31. This year, with more experience and higher expectations, the game was a lot closer as Pleasantville dropped a heartbreaker in overtime 43-42.

The Trojans gave up 16 first quarter points, but then locked the Rockets down defensively allowing only 10 points combined throughout the second and third quarters. With the Trojans down two and the seconds winding down in regulation, Kelsee Van Haalen scored a layup to tie the game and force the extra time. Van Haalen ended up with 25 points on the night to lead Pleasantville. The Trojans drop to 0-1, and will take on Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday.
