A large senior class for the Pleasantville Trojan football team will leave a lot of holes to fill for the 2018 squad. Starting 9 seniors on offense, and 10 on defense, leads the Trojans to being very senior heavy on the stat-sheet.

Owen Worthington, the senior signal-caller for Pleasantville, has been under center for the past two seasons and had over 1000 yards passing and 12 touchdowns on the season. The Trojans leading rusher for the past two seasons has been Hunter Tyree, who in his senior season rushed for 1498 yards and 14 touchdowns, while getting 317 yards and 3 touchdowns as the teams leading receiver. Junior Cael Lester had 533 rushing yards on the season and will be the big Trojan threat to come back next season. On defense, the Trojans will graduate their top 8 tacklers and top 5 sack leaders. Grant Fouch, who had 5 interceptions on the season is the only starter to return.

Pleasantville went 8-3 on the season, and lost to Pella Christian in the quarterfinal round of the class 1A playoffs. A full season recap of the Pleasantville season can be heard this Saturday on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner.
