Cloudy with a chance of trifectas must have been the forecast for Fulton, Missouri Wednesday afternoon, as the Central College women’s basketball team buried a program best 16 threes on route to a 73-61 triumph over Westminster College.

Locked at 15 apiece after the opening quarter, Central hit two triples in the early portion of the second quarter to take a lead Westminster never closed.

Senior sharpshooter Emily Dine led the Dutch with 22 points, including six field goals from beyond the arc. Dine, the school’s all-time leader in three point makes, also had three steals and two assists.

Jessica Helton added 14 points, a career-high eight assists and five steals.

Central is 2-1 and returns to the court Saturday with familiar foe Bethany Lutheran University at 6 p.m. The two teams squared off just four days ago, with the Vikings winning 79-72.
