Led by a core of five seniors, a total of seven Central College football players landed on the all-Iowa Conference first team.

The Dutch were tied for the league lead in first team picks, matching conference champion Wartburg College.

On offense, wide receiver Sam Markham was named for the third year in a row while left tackle Cal Smith and s-back Kyle Gritsch were first-time choices.

Defensively, both of Central’s dynamic inside linebackers, Sam Norgaard and Tyler Olson were selected. Punter Tyler Bryant and kicker Jon Alberts rounded out the seven selections.

Receiving honorable mention for Central were quarterback Blaine Hawkins, defensive lineman Justin Dilks and linebacker Josh Scheible.

Central finished in second place in the conference with a 6-2 record and went 7-3 overall.
