Parents and children in Knoxville will have a chance to take part in Storybook Night tonight at West Elementary in Knoxville.

Storybook night is a night for parents to learn more ways to help their children learn to read as well as a chance for children to have stories read to them by characters of their favorite books. Instructional Coach at West Elementary Kim Collins tells KNIA/KRLS News the event will include the cat from The Cat in the Hat, the pig from If you Give a Pig a Pancake as well as the mouse from If you Give a Mouse a Cookie. Collins says local police officers will also be on hand reading books about what it’s like to be a police officer. The Knoxville Morning Kiwanis will also be serving a free pancake and sausage dinner as part of the event. Storybook Night will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. For more information click here.
