Funeral services for Nellie Leona (Winegardner) Helwig, age 95 of Knoxville will begin with visitation from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. The family will be present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

A Celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 18 at Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. A burial at Liberty Cemetery, west of Bussey, Iowa, will follow.

A memorial will be established in Nellie’s name for the Bussey United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.winfieldfh.com.

The seventh day of the civil trial of the homicide of Shirley Carter began Tuesday with the jury having a chance to view the Carter farm and the home in which Shirley was shot dead the morning of June 19th, 2015.
