Both Central College basketball teams returned to action yesterday with victories.

Playing in front of their home fans, the Central women rolled past Knox of Illinois 85-53. The Dutch actually trailed 15-13 after one quarter, but won the second and third quarters by a combined count of 50-24 to take control.

Emily Dine poured in 11 three-pointers to score 33 points, while Jackie Kriegel added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Central is 7-4 and travels to Illinois today to battle Augustana.

Central’s men stunned sixth-ranked Ramapo of New Jersey, 74-69, at the D3Hoops.com Classic to improve to 4-7 on the season. They’ll play again today in Las Vegas against Pacific Lutheran.
