Central College will stage a series of winter softball clinics for youth, along with a unique clinic for coaches.

A skills clinic for players in grades 5-8 will be staged Saturday, January 13th from 9 a.m.-noon, and that same day, a pitching clinic for players in grades 8-12 is set for 1-4 p.m.

A skills clinic for players in grades 1-4 will be conducted Saturday, February 3rd from 9 a.m. to noon while a high school clinic for players in grades 9-12 will follow from 1-4 p.m.

A pair of coaches clinics are set for Saturday, February 17th. Session 1 will include lectures with demonstrations of drills and situations with current Central players. Base running, hitting, infield and catching defensive techniques and outfield play will be covered. Session 2 offers classroom instruction with video on offensive and defensive team situations, supplemented by lecture and discussion on mental skills, leadership development, team chemistry, motivation, helping players handle failure and relations with parents and umpires.
