The first full meet of the season once again paid dividends for the Central College men’s and women’s indoor track & field team at the Dutch Holiday Preview Saturday.

No team scores were kept in the first of four meets held at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse this season.

The Central men corralled the top-three spots in the 3,000-meter run with Mark Fairley claiming first place. Fellow cross-country national qualifier Tanner Rathje won the mile run.

On the women’s side, freshmen Mary Gray won the 60-meter hurdles, while Pella High alum Kiki Pingel took fourth. Gray also ran the second leg of the winning 4×400-meter relay squad along with teammates Paige Doehrmann, Lynzie Miller and Hope Heitman.

Central will return after the Christmas break and travel to Lincoln, Nebraska for the Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday, January 19th.
