For the first time since 1988, two Central College Football players were chosen for the Academic All-America Division III football team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Seniors Kyle Gritsch and linebacker Carson Remick were both named to the second team as a tight end and a special teamer, respectively. Both exercise science majors, Gritsch has a 3.44 GPA and Remick has a 3.73 GPA.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity contributor, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better and have reached sophomore standing.

Central student-athletes have earned academic All-America honors 56 times, including 15 times by a member of the football program.
