A Knoxville man was arrested Thursday following the execution of a search warrant in the 700 block of south Lincoln Street in Knoxville.

According to court documents at approximately 4:15 p.m. the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Drug Task Force executed the search warrant at a home owned by 47-year-old Bryan Rotz of Knoxville. Rotz was not home at the time the warrant was executed but a male subject who was at the home told law enforcement that Rotz was at work. The Knoxville Police Department located Rotz and searched him per the search warrant. Inside a backpack Rotz was wearing law enforcement located a small bag with a crystalline substance and a pipe with a partially burnt substance which both tested positive for methamphetamine. The combined weight totaled 1.2 grams of methamphetamine. Officers also located large amounts of money in the backpack. At the home owned by Rotz 4 more grams of methamphetamine as well as a large number of clear plastic bags common in the sale of methamphetamine were located. In total Rotz was found to be in possession of 5.2 grams of methamphetamine as well as 19 pills of hydrocodone, three pills of oxycodone hydrochloride and three pills of Viagra. Rotz was charged with possession of more than 5 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver a class B felony, failure to affix a drug tax stamp a class D felony, two counts of possession of schedule two controlled substance, five counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
