Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy Isaac Short saved a Pleasantville woman from a heroin overdose on Wednesday, which just so happened to be Short’s birthday.

At approximately 1:36 a.m. Wednesday Short arrived at the scene of a heroin overdose involving a 26-year-old mother of two children below the age of four. Deputy Short was able to administer two doses of Narcan saving the woman’s life while rescue was en-route to the location from Knoxville. Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says “I don’t know about all of you but for me saving a person life on the night of your birthday would be about the best present a person could ask for.”
