With tired legs from a battle against area rival Pella Christian last night, the PCM Mustang boys basketball team would survive a tough game against the Norseman of Roland-Story last night on the road 51-42.

The girls fell 54-36 in a game where offense was tough to come by. The Mustangs got out to an early lead with a 14-0 run and led 19-7. Their tired legs started to show later on as the Norseman hung around getting the game as close as five at several points in the game. The Mustangs held on for the victory on the back of 23 points from Andrew Van Ryswyk, while Dayton Boell had 8.

On the girls side, PCM had trouble scoring early on and fell behind at half 29-16. Scoring picked up in the second half, but the damage was done. Regan Freland continued her torrid pace to start the season with 18 points including 5-5 from the charity stripe. The boys improve to 3-0, while the girls fall to 2-3, and both squads will travel to Greene County this Friday.
